car accident
- A collision between two or more vehicles (or between a vehicle and a stationary object)
Car insurance
- Insurance against loss due to traffic accidents
Compensation
- Something, such as money, given or received as payment or reparation, as for a service or loss
Crumple zone
- An area of a vehicle that is designed to compress during an accident to absorb the energy from the impact
Front End
- Body of the vehicle incorporating the bumper, radiator grill, headlights
Front impact
- An accident where the front end of a vehicle is damaged
Future loss compensation
- Covers loss of future earnings if your injury prevents you from working or continuing to work in a profession
General damages compensation
- Covers the injury that you gained from the accident
Head on
- An accident in which two vehicles hit each other's front end
Motor vehicle
- A automotive vehicle that does not run on rails; usually with rubber tyres; such as cars, vans, trucks, lorries, scooters, and motorcycles
Rear End
- To crash into, or cause one's vehicle to crash into, the back end of another vehicle
- A rear end collision where a vehicle impacts the vehicle infront of it
Roll over
- To overturn a vehicle
Roll bar
- A heavy steel bar or tubular steel that goes from one side of the frame, up and around in back of the driver in a hoop, and back down to the other side of the frame. It is used to protect the driver in the event his vehicle rolls over
Side impact
- To crash into, or cause one's vehicle to crash into, the side of another vehicle
Special damages compensation
- Covers the costs you have incurred whilst claiming compensation. This could include loss of earnings, solicitor fees, medical treatment, travelling costs, hire of a car etc
